I confess I'm just getting used to the idea of a blog. I apologize for neglecting this one, I've just let a very busy schedule get in the way of my blogging duties. Since November I have been on the road to some extent and have a couple of new restaurants to talk about.
First, I wanted to mention the Whip Coffee Shop, 6406 Pearl Rd. Parma Heights, Ohio 44130 440.885.9849. (We stopped in while travelling from Columbus, Ohio - where we were deposting more of the company's archival material into the Sandra Hughes Collection at the Theater Research Center, Ohio State University - on our way to Erie, PA.) The Whip, situated in a stand-alone antique building along the hwy., is a place we've stopped at whenever we're travelling I-71 up to the Great Lakes. It shines in a town full of terrific restaurants. It serves American comfort food with the added Cleveland advantage of including German, Polish and Italian food selections. The pies taste home made and the whole experience will improve your day - no matter what your emotional state. The Whip may be an almost perfect road restaurant. By the way, we've been asked back to the Seacoast Fringe Festival for 2011. I'm already looking forward to returning to the State Street Saloon in Portsmouth.
